Suhira and Layla Hazine

Layla Hazine has loved dance all her life, but was not able to realize her dream to perform until 21 years of age.  She joined a class offered at an area Junior College and her life was changed.  Here also is where she met her dance partner of more than 20 years, Suhira.  In 1988 Layla Hazine and Suhira as co-directors and choreographers, formed Scheherezade's Fantasies, as well as the Polynesian troupe, Hula Breeze. Three of the original members are still with the group: Suhira, Layla Hazine, and Atesh. They have now been joined by many other women who also "live for the love of the dance."

Layla Hazine has performed at many restaurants, festivals, parties, and seminars.  The original members of Scheherezade's Fantasies performed for the Defense Minister of Egypt along with various Congressmen and Senators. They also performed at the Texas Rennaissance Festival for 8 years and the Poteet Strawberry Festival for several years. She is exceptionally proud of her students who, along with Suhira and herself, perfom annually in area festivals (Arbor Daze, Mayfest, and Oktoberfest) as well as the Texas State Fair.  Layla Hazine and Suhira are very well respected by other Professional Bellydancers for their choreographies and performances.  Scheherezade's Fantasies is often invited to entertain in Belly Dance Seminars in Texas, Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Ohio and Kentucky.  The dance form is always evolving, and to offer the best classes for her students, Layla Hazine still studies under many well know Belly Dance instructors throughout the year.

As a wife and mother of two, she realizes the difficulties in scheduling time and the importance of making time for yourself.  Although, dance now seems to consumes a large part of her life, she would not change a thing.  The experiences of her dance life, as well as her love of the dance and the joy she receives touching so many lives through teaching and performing has made her a stronger, more self-confident person.  This is what she would hope all could achieve.

In November 2000, Scheherezade's Secrets was created.  Layla Hazine had for a long time offered her wares to her students and other dancers and decided to go on a slightly wider scale.
